Homes were damaged, schools were closed, cars were stranded, I-95 was shut down, and hospital patients were displaced by the flooding across Palm Beach County.  Most tragically, the flooding claimed the lives of two people.  As much as 22 inches of rainfall were reported in some areas.  While this amount of rain is out of the ordinary, we must do more to be prepared.

Immediately following the flooding, Senator Sachs headed to the area to speak with those affected.  The Senator will be working with the South Florida Water Management District, the Lake Worth Drainage District, and community associations to assess what went wrong and what preventative measures can be taken in the future.
