Senate Bill 84 co-sponsored by Senator Sachs was voted for unanimously in the Education Appropriations Subcommittee, which the Senator sits on.  This was its third committee stop.  The Senator is a member of the two prior committees the bill passed through as well.  In those committees, Military Affairs and Education policy, the bill also received unanimous support.  The bill is now headed to the general Appropriations Committee before it gets a full vote on the Senate floor.

The measure would give honorably discharged military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard and the reserves in-state tuition at all state colleges and universities. This bill represents the continuing commitment by Florida to our military veterans. It also embodies a promise Senator Sachs made when she first ran for public office- that she would focus on promoting and supporting our Florida Veterans. To this end Sen. Sachs has filed a bill on behalf of veterans in the State House and  Senate every  year while in office.
