Senator Maria Sachs is seeking motivated individuals interested in government and public service to intern with the District 34 office. This part-time internship offers the opportunity to learn how a Florida Senate District Office functions, interacts with, and serves the public on a daily basis.

Responsibilities may include:

·       Assisting Senate staff with special projects.

·       Researching legislative initiatives and issues facing Floridians.

·       Addressing constituent concerns.

·       Navigating state and local government institutions and public service networks.

·       Assisting staff with daily administrative office operations.

·       Attending local events as the District 34 representative.

·       Assisting to maintain contact databases and networks.

Preferred background:

·       Interest in public service.

·       Coursework in history, political science, public administration and management, communications, journalism, or related fields.

·       Excellent writing and communication skills.

·       Interest in public relations and social media.

·       Basic administrative experience.
