The parasailing bill sponsored by Senator Sachs is one step closer to becoming law in Florida. The bill passed unanimously, by a vote of 40 yeas and 0 nays, on the Senate floor. The bill is named the White-Miskell Act after Kathleen Miskell, a tourist from Connecticut, and Amber White, a 15 year old teenager, lost their lives in two separate parasailing accidents in Broward County.The proposal will improve parasail safety standards by imposing weather restrictions for parasailing operations and minimum insurance requirements.

The bill is going to be heard in the Regulatory Affairs committee, its final committee of reference in the House during the upcoming meeting on April 10th beginning at 8 am.
